Let me tell you the story about the Best Apple Crisp EVER… While visiting PA over labor day weekend, we hit up my favorite orchard in Bucks County, Solebury Orchards. I originally planned to just make applesauce with my bounty, but ended up with over 60lbs of apples (that was only two brown bag fills y’all!). Needless to say, you only need so many jars of applesauce, so I had lots of leftovers. I decided to make apple crisp, since it is one of my hubby’s favorite desserts. This is by far the BEST apple crisp recipe I have ever had. I love the extra crispy topping and that it stays crunchy, even after adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream… or two… or three!
Best Apple Crisp Ever

1.5 c. brown sugar
3 cup Old fashioned oats
10 Tbsp melted butter
1. Peel, core and slice apples into 1/8″ slices.
2. Place sliced apples in a bowl with the ground cinnamon and sugar; gently toss to coat. Place in 9×13 casserole dish.
3. For the topping, mix the flour, brown sugar and oats. Add the melted butter and mix well.
4. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples and bake at 375°F for about 45 minutes.
