Breakfast Nook Reveal

I will eventually curate a full house tour for y’all, but seeing as we’ve got a fairly large amount of wall space and long list of projects to fill, I’ll be brining it to you, one small space at a time! Aside from the breakfast nook, Evie’s room and our sitting room, are the only rooms that are complete. We’ve still got a few small finishing touches to the playroom, dining room, kitchen and living room before they’re also done. Adalyn’s room is on stand-by until we get her in her big girl bed and the office, guest room and loft area are far down the list. Moving into a new house, especially brand-spankin’ new, calls for LOTS to be done!

The breakfast nook area, like most areas in this house came to fruition in the process. I had bits and pieces of ideas of what I wanted before we  moved in and then it kind of evolved as we got moved in here.

I purchased the table prior to us moving in, as well as the chairs. I was hoping that it all meshed well together. Luckily, I love them as a set! The table is no longer available, but I will link a similar one at the end of this post. I really love the chairs because they are super durable and easy to clean. Also, if we ever need to, we can easily add on an additional chair without having to purchase a set. Best of all, they are super affordable!

The console table was kind of a complete accident. I had originally intended that table for another area of the house, and didn’t plan on putting anything along the wall of the nook. However, the table fit the breakfast nook space much better, and I actually love it in the kitchen area!

The girls’ art boards were a lingering thought and last minute decision. I gathered my inspiration from Emily Ley and the boards she has displayed for her kids’ artwork. So, I ran to hobby lobby and DIY’ed myself some one Saturday afternoon. Arguably, it is not the most visually appealing part of the room, but it is made up of love and hard work from two little girls, so I like it just fine.

The light was also a last minute thing- I was planning a really unique, quality piece of lighting for the breakfast nook. I ended up at HomeGoods one day and found this one- for $60, I had to grab it, knowing I could use the hundreds of dollars I was saving for another item in the house!
