Capsule Wardrobe | How- To

Ok, so you guys that have been following me for the last couple of weeks have heard my Why I Capsule and What Is a Capsule Wardrobe. TODAY we get to learn HOW!

So, when I was first researching, I found there wasn’t a ton of info out there. My largest resource at the time, was Erin from Cotton Stem, which I mentioned in one of my previous posts. She led me to the Capsule Planner by Un-Fancy.com, it was a great resources!

I really love the capsule planner that Un-Fancy provides. It is comprehensive and really makes you hone in on what clothes you wear and love most, as well as what type of clothes you should focus on for your lifestyle.

I started out by doing one first sweep of my closet- getting rid of anything I didn’t like, didn’t fit, or was out of style. Then, I broke out my capsule planner and got to work. I did skip the “My Go To Uniforms” section, but in retrospect, I think it would have been a handy section to fill out, seeing as I do have a pretty consistent set of looks I run through.

After I finished my planner, I went through my closet again, using the guidelines of the types of clothes, brands, fabrics, colors, etcetera that I liked to narrow down to what would be left for my capsule.

After all of my capsule planning, I made my shopping list, which admittedly, for Spring/Summer was very small. Going into fall, I’ve found that my shopping list was bigger for sure, and I’ll be sharing that in the coming weeks with you guys!
