Nursery Inspiration Board

I really had NO idea what I wanted to do for Sadie’s Nursery. With Everleigh, I was always thinking ahead to baby, so when I came across this collection of cute fabrics at a hometown fabric store, I knew that was going to be the centerpiece for her nursery. I had it bought before we were even pregnant, hoping we had a girl!
I’m not big into “themed” nurseries. I like something that the kids can grow into and not have to change it a few years down the road. I decided since we are only a few months out from this little girl’s arrival, I better find some sort of inspiration to build off of for her nursery. I jumped over to my favorite online fabric site, Hawthorne Threads, and found a collection by Pat Bravo called Citric Happiness- Rapture that I thought might work. I always tend to lean towards mustard yellow, mint and pink, which is pretty much Evie’s color palette. I allowed myself to use it again, but wanted it to be on the brighter side. I also ordered a pattern from Etsy so that I could make a quilt, like I did for Everleigh.
However, when I received the fabrics, they were much brighter than they appeared online. This is the thing I hate about not being able to see the fabrics in person. I started making the quilt despite my dissatisfaction. I thought the colors would grow on me. They didn’t. So, I started my search once again a couple of weeks ago. I also decided I’m going to excuse myself from making another quilt, even though I feel terribly guilty about it! I am just so exhausted now that we’re nearing the end of my pregnancy. The last thing I want to do is sit in front of a sewing machine for hours.
Luckily, I was able to find a fabric I loved at Lottie Da Baby. The color palette is still the same, but the colors, mainly the yellow, are MUCH more my taste- mustard as opposed to “highlighter” yellow. I ordered two sheets, two changing pad covers and the ruffle blanket from the Bonnie Christine Reminisce Collection. I can’t wait to get them!
After I finally had a starting point for the nursery (the bigger, bolder floral pattern seen in the inspiration board below). I went to work on finding other pieces. I started a Pinterest Board which helped to pull some things together, but I wanted to make an inspiration board to see all of the exact pieces of the room put together!
