I promise you, these bread machine cinnamon rolls will become a staple in your household! The fact that you can do most of the work in your bread machine makes them rather painless to make; which is always a plus. Not to mention, they are amazingly delicious!
Ingredients for the rolls:
1 c. milk, heated in microwave for 1 minute
1/4 c. warm water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. sugar
5 c. all purpose flour
3 tsp. quick rise yeast
For the filling:
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. brown sugar
5 Tbsp. cinnamon
For the cream cheese icing:
2 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. butter
1 1/4 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanila
Directions:
- Add ingredients for the bread machine rolls, into your machine, per the directions in your bread machine manual. Typically, it’s wet ingredients followed by dry.
- Bake the rolls on the “Dough” setting of your machine.
- When rolls are done, turn onto a greased surface and cover with plastic wrap for 10 minutes.
- After the dough has rested, rolls out into a large rectangle, about 16″x24″.
- Now it’s time for the filling. Spread the softened butter along the entire dough rectangle, going almost to the edges.
- Mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly onto your rectangle.
- Starting with the long edges, roll the dough to form a log.
- Cut the dough into even wheels, about 1-2″ wide.
- Place the buns into a greased 9×13″ pan. **At this point, you can continue to the baking process, or refrigerate overnight**
- To continue on to baking, cover the rolls and let them rise 45-60minutes (if you choose to let them sit overnight, you can skip this part).
- Remove plastic wrap and bake in a 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes.
- While the rolls are cooking, in a medium bowl, combine butter and cream cheese and beat until creamy. Add sugar and vanilla, beat until well combined. Once the rolls cool slightly, you can add the frosting on top.
